DESOI was founded in 1979 by master lathe operator Siegfried Desoi an interested and open-minded man who successfully has gone his way.

An old barn had been changed into a workshop and equipped with one lathe, one sawing machine, and one workbench. When he opened up the turning shop Siegfried Desoi even employed one apprentice. Full order books showed that the production of different turned parts was highly demanded.

Due to his pioneering spirit, courage, and verve Siegfried Desoi succeeded in building up a leading company from a modest workshop.

It was in 1982 when a friend of the young business man asked him to manufacture an injection packer for repairing cracks in concrete. Even today the legendary steel packer with article number 20091 is still part of the delivery programme. A little later the first injection machine was designed and produced – the pedal controlled reciprocating pump PED-12. It is a real “Sowohl-als-auch” pump, as written in the first DESOI catalogues in the mid-eighties, as it can be used for cement suspensions “as well as” for resins.

In 1983 Siegfried Desoi took the plunge to sell abroad – in Saudi Arabia. DESOI produced special plastic packers which became a big success.

In the meantime the old barn reached its capacity limits and a new production hall had to be built. In 1985 a machine and assembly hall with office rooms was built on an area of nearly 300 m² in the industrial park of Mittelkalbach. At that time Siegfried Desoi employed 10 staff. A milestone in the company’s history was the registration in the Commercial Register in 1988 – since then the company has been operating under the name DESOI GmbH.

The first patent application was made in 1991: The Desoi wet-in-wet method. Injections into the masonry shall produce a subsequent sealing against capillary ascending moisture by narrowing or obturating the capillaries in the building material to reduce ascending moisture and the content of moisture in the masonry.

The continuously increasing production required additional halls. Step by step the production area has been enlarged up to 2500 m².

Knowledge transfer has always been very important to Desoi company. Since 1992 seminars and workshops have been offered to the customers. The participant-oriented seminars are suited to users, experts in the field of sealing of structures, building experts, planners. Other topics are horizontal sealing, film and masonry injection, crack injection, and the Desoi spiral anchor system. Very popular is our seminar on cost calculation providing useful knowledge to meet the increasing requirements of the market.

In 2004 Desoi GmbH celebrated its 25th anniversary. Having started in a little barn Desoi GmbH has developed into an international company and has become one of the leading manufacturers in the field of injection techniques. The company’s succession and continuation has been ensured with son Martin Desoi and Michael Engels. Some innovations have been put into practice. The new corporate design has been established and DESOI is a protected trademark in more than 20 countries.

And we provide an extra service for construction engineers, architects, and experts: Tender specifications (recommendations) according to state of the art technology. They are available in the fields of crack injection, film and masonry injection, additional horizontal sealing, and the DESOI spiral anchor system. This service leads to a close and practice-oriented cooperation with our business partners resulting in finding the perfect solution for each individual challenge.

30 years of experience as well as the close cooperation with planners, engineers, experts of all fields enable us to find the perfect solution according to our customers’ needs. The prompt and reliable order processing is highly appreciated by our business partners.  

From the beginning the production shop has served many local customers. In the meantime the conventional lathe, saw, and work bench have been replaced by state-of-the-art machinery offering a versatile range. Mainly we produce intricate parts or spare parts which are no longer available, as single piece work or in series. The three departments production, civil engineering, 3D-design enable us to offer a flexible service and complete solutions and we have achieved market leadership.

“Made in Germany” stands for high quality and we feel committed to this label. We are very proud that many of the staff members of the early years are still working for us. Today we have over 60 employees, eight of them are apprentices. Training and supporting our junior staff is of high importance to us. We also provide training for all staff members to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills.
