Application – adhesive packers
Application range
- Dry building components
- Building components that cannot / may not be drilled
- Prestressed concrete
- Low pressure injections up to e.g. 10 bar
Placing the adhesive packer
- Roughen surface on both sides of the crack depending on the building component
- Distance between packers depends on thickness of building component (normally: thickness of building component = distance between packers)
- Keep the injection canal free by driving a greased steel pin in the crack
- Apply insulating material on the adherend of packer, push packer over the steel pin and press it on the crack
- Seal crack with insulating material also embedding adherend of adhesive packers
- Apply insulating material up to 3 – 5 cm from the end of crack (deaeration)
- Mount locking tappets and open them
- Inject packer until injection material comes out of adjacent packer
- Shut locking tappet
- After injection material has cured remove packers and insulating material
Information
- Adhesive packers of plastic or metal are available
- The adhesive bonding joint between packer and building component is decisive
- The adhesive pull strength of surface as well as the characteristics of the adhesive (insulating material) have an important effect on the injection pressure
- No reduction of cross section – no disturbance of flow
